Cliché Skateboards is a skateboard decks company founded in 1997 by French professional skater Jeremie Daclin. The company began by sponsoring European professional skaters and established itself as a local brand in Lyon. Daclin decided to produce equipment that suited the style of his friends and fellow Lyonnais. Cliché Skateboards is a scooter company founded in 1997 by French professional skateboarder Jeremie Daclin. At first, the company sponsored European professional skaters and established itself as a local brand in Lyon, France. After working with the American company New Deal and joining the Deathbox team (now Flip Skateboards), Daclin decided to create his own brand in France. The goal of Cliché was to promote photography, Europe and all types of skating. In 2001, Cliché was acquired by the Salomon Group, which later became part of Amer Sports International in 2005. In 2009, the company was acquired by Dwindle Distribution, an American company. Cliché has had a wide variety of professional skaters over the years, including Lucas Puig, Cale Nuske, Andrew Brophy, Joey Brezinski, Flo Mirtain and Sammy Winter. The company has released several skating videos throughout its history, including Europa, Bon Appetit and Bon Voyage.
