Yes Snowboards Hybrid 2024
THE WIZARD OF THE TABLES
The outrageous love child between the iconic 420 and PYL boards, the Hybrid immediately turned heads upon its release last year for anyone who knew its parents. Featuring the shorter/wider planing surface of the 420 and employing the Tapered UnderBite contour originally introduced in the PYL. Buoyant and maneuverable with sure edge grip and quick response out of turns, we've created a perfect combination of these two boards that has steadily gained popularity. Mark Kowalchuk designed the board: "The Snow Wizard is a nod to last year's Hybrid by having trees and being in powder snow and trees. The idea is that this forest wizard is summoning more snow. The Northern Lights just They light the way at night."
HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
FORM: Directional
OUTLINE: Tapered UnderBite
CORE: Poplar/Paulownia/Bamboo
FIBERGLASS: Triaxial
FLEXIBILITY INDEX: 7/10
MOUNT TYPE
CONTOUR - TAPERED UNDERBITE: Similar to "wings" or bumps on a surfboard, it works differently in the snow. Each side of the effective edge of the board is segmented into 3 distinct parts that recede horizontally instead of tapering. Traditional "narrow" boards take the entire side cut and pull the tail inward, away from the arc of your turn, which is why they tend to slide in hard turns. The Tapered UnderBite corrects this by keeping the side cut parallel to the corresponding one on the other side of the board. Additionally, it increases the depth of the lateral cut towards the tail, creating a corrective "hook" in the narrowness. The board blends into turns effortlessly, with the directional ride and buoyancy you'd expect from a narrow board.
CORE - POPLAR/PAULOWNIA/BAMBOO: Creates a lighter and more sensitive core than Full Poplar. The Poplar + Bamboo uses the same durable core, lightens it by replacing 30% of the Poplar with Paulownia, and inserts two bamboo strings along the entire length to add pop and response.
BASE PROFILE: Camrock 1-4-1 Directional
BASE MATERIALS - SINTERED TRUE: Exactly what it sounds like. Pellets or coarse powder are pressed into a solid. There are several suppliers for our entire industry and each has different codes for them, depending on color and transparency. These codes may make it seem like you are getting many different types and qualities of sintering, but they are all pretty much the same as far as you and I are concerned. True sintered is harder and more expensive than extruded, and can be faster for those who practice an aggressive riding style. But to achieve that, it needs to be waxed and prepared for local conditions.
